Based on scientific study by the World Health Organization (WHO) “In Times of Stress, Do What Matters”, the project seeks to offer emotional support and strategies to promote well-being, creating a space for sharing experiences. The group will meet online for a year, with sessions focused on different aspects of stress management. Informative lectures will also be offered to participants' families.
“This project is based on the Doing What Matters in Times of Stress guide. In it, we will learn how to manage stress, focusing on what really matters to you, to live a life worth living and, of course, taking advantage of games as a tool to help with this engagement. During the sessions, later in the project, we will create a space for unity with games, which will be a space in which disability will also have its space”explained Elzeário Oliveira.
Christian Bernauer, president of AbleGamers Brasil, highlighted the importance of this project: “As AbleGamers Brasil, we are very happy to support this project that is exclusive to gamers with disabilities, who will be able to have a space to welcome and share experiences, in addition to using games as a space for participants to come together.”
Registration to participate in the support group began on May 7th and runs until June 7th. Interested parties can register through this link. Requirements include being a person with a physical disability, having a cell phone or computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection for video meetings and being over 18 years old. Places are limited to 30 people.
