Corinthians breaks silence on debt for Barletta
The Corinthians board admitted that it did not start payments for Crystian Barletta, formerly of Joinville and São Bernardo; Timão summit explained obstacles
O Corinthians opened the game in relation to debts for Crystian Barletta. Over the past week, the joinville and the St Bernard explained that Alvinegro has not yet started payments for the attacking midfielder, which was valued at BRL 6 million. According to Timão officials, the club has faced a cash flow problem in recent months.
However, the issue would have already been resolved due to the quotas that are paid during the Brasileirão dispute. In this way, the purchase of 50% of the player’s rights is the next item in the queue among the priorities of the Corinthians. Joinville holds 10% of the total negotiation value, while São Bernardo would receive R$ 1 million in cash and the remainder in installments of R$ 500 thousand.
Alvinegro highlighted that, soon, the installments will be up to date. In addition, Corinthians will try to solve another headache: paying off debts for the striker. Mauro Boselliwhich operates in students. The São Paulo club was ordered by Fifa in 2021 to pay US$ 1.1 million for the veteran; although Timão appealed, the determination was maintained.
If Corinthians does not pay for three consecutive windows, one transfer ban may occur, which would prevent the club from registering new players. Alvinegro’s board, however, stated that there are advanced talks with Boselli’s lawyer to enter into a friendly and beneficial agreement for both parties. The Argentine played 72 games for Timão, with 17 goals scored.
