Salma Hayek’s husband is in talks to buy a famous talent agency

the husband of Salma Hayekthe billionaire businessman François-Henri Pinaultis reportedly in talks to buy the famed Hollywood talent agency, “Creative Artists Agency” (CAA), which holds the artistic representation of names such as Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Will Smith, among others.

The news was announced amid information that SAG-AFTRA, the actors’ association, had decided to go on strike. The strike will bring most of Hollywood to a standstill, with very few exceptions.

CAA has a large list of clients including JJ Abrams, Mark Tuan, George Clooney, Marion Cotillard, Tom Cruise, Michael Douglas, Tom Hanks, David Letterman, Brad Pitt, Martin Scorsese, Will Smith, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Meryl Streep, Fifth Harmony and many other stars and filmmakers. Among its corporate clients are Coca-Cola and Mattel.

The agency was created in 1975, during a dinner when partners Mike Rosenfeld, Michael Ovitz, Ron Meyer, William Haber and Rowland Perkins decided to create their own artistic representation agency.

Despite negotiations being well advanced, Bloomberg makes it clear that things could still fail, although Pinault is fully interested in finalizing the purchase.

FEARING TECHNOLOGY

Salma Hayek participated in the presentation of the new season of the series “Black Mirror“, which she stars in, and which arrived on Netflix ON June 15th. The series explores the scope and consequences of technology, such as artificial intelligence, and in an interview, the Mexican actress confessed that, while all of this is impressive, it generates a little fear.

“It is scary. I prefer humans,” he commented.

Charlie Brooker’s series began production in 2011, and the aim is to provoke reflections on the development of technology in viewers with its dystopian episodes.

Salma stated: “I feel very honored that this man (Brooker) thought of me to play a character (…) When I was told Charlie wrote a character for me, at first I was excited, but then I said, ‘hey, wait a minute , it’s horror, so I’m going to be someone horrible, a horrible human being, I kill someone or I don’t know what I’m going to do’”, he remembers.

Salma participates in the first five episodes of the sixth season. She begins the series in the episode “Joan is Horrible”, where she and Canadian actress Annie Murphy, are victims of an identity clause that turns them into a digital character.

The new installment of “Black Mirror” is now available on Netflix.
