This Saturday (18), actor Tony Ramos, 75 years old, left the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Hospital Samaritano, in Botafogo, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Tony underwent rushed surgery to contain a bleed in the brain, on Thursday (16).

Surgery to drain a subdural hematoma occurs when there is an accumulation of blood in the intracranial region between the brain and the skull, resulting in increased pressure in the region, which can lead to the patient's death. After showing improvement, the actor was taken to the Semi-Intensive Care Unit, where he continues to receive medical monitoring.

According to the latest medical bulletin sent to “Quem” magazine, the actor is lucid and his health has progressed satisfactorily. In an interview with SBT, Tony Ramos' wife, Lidiane Barbosa calmed the fans, said that the actor is doing very well, that the surgery was a success and that her husband will soon be able to speak to the public.

Types of subdural hematoma

Subdural hematomas can occur in some occasions and forms, acute subdural hematoma occurs as a result of a strong blow, such as in a motorcycle accident or fall from a great height where blood accumulates in the intracranial region. Chronic subdural hematoma occurs gradually, it is continuous bleeding that can have medium and long-term consequences, until they are noticed during medical examinations.

According to experts, intracranial hemorrhage can also occur imperceptibly, with a considerable incidence in elderly patients and in patients using anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications. You symptoms can be varied such as: continuous headache, drowsiness, mental confusion, difficulty speaking, paralysis on one side of the body, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, weakness, apathy and vision problems.
