Lil Nas X releases new single: “J Christ”

In the early hours of this Friday (12), Lil Nas X released the video for his new single to fans: “J Chirst”. The song marks the rapper's return and the launch of his new era. In the clip, Lil Nas X incorporates Jesus Christ and other biblical characters, in addition to reproducing famous passages, such as the parting of the red sea and the crucifixion.

Causing a lot of controversy on social media even before its release, Lil Nas X defended himself from criticism by commenting that the image of Jesus Christ has been used for a long time throughout history and that he is not taking with Christ. Before the incident, the singer announced on X, formerly Twitter, the release date of the single with a statement that the song would be a tribute to Jesus. However, this is not the first time that the rapper has caused controversy by using Christianity in his productions.

Understand the rapper's other controversies

Lil Nas X had already been criticized when he released the song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, from the album “Montero”. In this production, the singer is thrown to hell, after the scene between Eve and the snake in the garden of Eden, and he dances with the devil, later taking his place. At the time, the singer declared that the song was a reference to the treatment that LGBTQIA+ people suffer from Christianity.
