Janja Lula da Silva, 57, wife of the current president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, 78, is on French soil to carry out diplomatic activities, representing her husband during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Among the many commitments to be fulfilled is participation in the ceremony that will officially open the Olympics that will take place this year. Janja has already attended a meal with Thomas Bach, the 70-year-old president of the International Olympic Committee, who hosted a reception dinner for the delegations and delegations of the countries participating in this year's edition of the Olympics.
The representatives of the Brazilian nation
The Brazilian delegation is counting on the presence of the doctor, federal deputy and head of the Ministry of Sports, André Fufuca, 34 years old, and also the Brazilian ambassador to France, Ricardo Neiva Tavares, 66 years old. The presence of all is confirmed for the opening ceremony of the multi-sport competition, with international participation, which will take place in Paris.
Appointment schedule
This Friday (26), Janja Lula da Silva will have to attend the welcome event held by Macron, the 46-year-old president of France, and his wife Brigitte Macron, the 71-year-old French first lady. The reception is offered to a wide range of authorities from different countries, and their athletes will participate in the Olympic Games as representatives of their respective nations, in multiple sports.

The following day, July 27, the First Lady will make a brief appearance at the exhibition of the video “Together we are unbeatable”, a project involving athletes participating in the Olympics, in support of the “Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty”.
She will also be part of the debut of the campaign that will promote Brazil in Europe, an initiative by Embratur and Sebrae, which has the title: “Visit Brazil. Here you always win”.
Representing the president
On July 11, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva publicly announced that his wife would represent him as a political and authority figure in all commitments that will take place during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In a speech, the current president of Brazil, the nation's highest ranking leader, said that he had received an invitation from the president of France, Macron, to the opening of the Olympics. However, Lula said that he would not attend the event, as he had “a lot to do”, and that he would send his wife in his place.
