Roger Machado praises Internacional's stance against Juventude

This Sunday (1), Internacional went to Alfredo Jaconi and beat Juventude 3-1, with goals scored by Borré, Gabriel Carvalho and Bernabei. Juventude managed to score in injury time with Oyama. After the victory, Roger Machado praised the team's stance in the match and avoided controversy over the actions of the opposing fans.

According to the coach, the team dominated the action from the 25th minute of the first half and completely dominated the match, deserving to leave with the three points. According to Roger, the team's performance is a summary of what the team can provide throughout the rest of the championship and how the ideas worked on are being executed correctly.

“It was a match that showed our superiority, valued by the current situation of our opponent and previous matches. We see that we have evolved, with important alternatives to start and change the game. When the game became more controlled, we promoted alternatives.”

Protest against the coach

Still in the press conference, Roger Machado was also asked about the opposing fans, who even threw fake notes onto the field towards the coach, a clear demonstration of his departure from Juventude, in exchange for Internacional, on July 17th. In his response, Roger preferred to avoid friction and simply said that it was not an ideal attitude.

“The protests are love and hate, very close. It’s not comfortable. I’m not used to it, but I’m adapted to the environment. It doesn’t generate resentment. It’s part of the rules of the game.”

With the victory in the regional match, Internacional reached tenth place, with 32 points in 22 matches played, being the team with the most matches still to be played in the competition. In the next round, Internacional will face Fortaleza, at Beira-Rio, on Wednesday (11), one day after the Brazilian National Team's match, in the return of competitions after the “Fifa Date”.
