Bradley Cooper reveals he considered retiring, but changed his mind after new proposal

In a relaxed interview with actor Mahershala Ali, recorded by Variety, Bradley Cooper said that he considered the possibility of retiring during the pandemic. However, this idea did not come to fruition thanks to the proposal to star in the film 'Licorice Pizza' (2021), directed and written by Paul Thomas Anderson.

Bradley did not mention his reasons for retiring from acting, but he says he changed his mind after receiving an irresistible invitation from Anderson. The only reason I didn't stop acting was because of Paul Thomas Anderson. When he called me to do this movie… Look, Mahershala, I think I would have been content to just open a door in this movie. I would have done anything.”, he said.

Cooper had to stop filming 'Nightmare Alley' (2021) to start recording 'Licorice Pizza' (2021). “I had grown my beard and the studio was hoping I didn't have COVID because we needed to resume filming, but I said [para Paul Thomas Anderson]: 'there is no chance I will be left out.

The actor also celebrated having started filming the film right at the beginning. “The character was at the beginning of the film, so I started with everyone else, which was wonderful, instead of arriving when the film was already rolling. I spent three weeks with Paul. I watched all the camera tests. He taught me about lenses, things I never knew. He's amazing.”, he celebrated.
