Bug in the iFood app brings inconvenience to users and complaints on social media
– trending news updates, world news, local news and all about nations, states and governments.

This Thursday (11), iFood, the famous delivery app, presented instability. The situation led hundreds of customers to social media to complain that they were unable to use the application as expected. The biggest complaints from customers referred to the slowness and completion of orders. In some cases, the amount was charged, but the delivery progress was not visible. In others, there was more than one charge for the same order and the refund did not yet appear on the credit card.

The flaw was detected in the early afternoon by the specialized website Downdetector. As of 3pm, around 600 complaints had been found. On Google Trends, the hashtag #IFoodCaiu was trending. On X (formerly Twitter), the complaints were varied. “Is this serious @iFood? Are they going to try to use the card? I don't even need to get in touch there to know that it's not with them… The charge in your name has already been made… I want my refund” (sic), said the profile @QuasminX followed by a screen recording with the company's justification, via the application.

Delivery platform speaks out after negative repercussions

With the problem in the application taking on major proportions on social media, iFood spoke out. The company confirmed that there was instability this afternoon, and that the situation had already been normalized. “All affected orders will be canceled and no customers, partners or delivery people will be harmed”the platform stated.

Application support channel must be used when there are problems with the order

iFood, like other applications, maintains a user service channel. When pressing the “Help” button, options such as “payments”, “amount charged more than once”, among others, are handled there. After selecting the desired option, click on the “Talk to iFood” button. It is worth noting that there is no telephone number to deal with these matters directly with any operator, only the chatbot mentioned above.
