Caio Blat and Marcos Breda attend the launch of the Gramado Film Festival

The Gramado Film Festival will be held in August, but on the night of Tuesday, July 11th, the novelties of the event were presented at Prodigy Santos Dumont, in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The meeting, hosted by journalist Renata Boldrini, brought together the Vice-Mayor of Gramado and Secretary of Tourism, Luia Barbacovi, the president of Gramadotur, Rosa Helena Volk, the curators, Caio Blat and Marcos Santuario, directors, producers, actors and journalists.

Those responsible for the festival announced the 12 films that will compete for the Kikitos in the Brazilian Short Films category and the names that close the hall of honors for this edition: Lucy Barreto and Ingrid Guimaraes.

For Rosa Helena Volk, president of Gramadotur, the feat reflects the notoriety of the female vision in audiovisual. “For the first time in our history, we are giving all of our honors to women. Thus, we reflect on the different generations of women who built and build cinema in Brazil. We remember the history with Léa Garcia and Laura Cardoso, fundamental pillars of audiovisual, and we go to the new names that take the quality of our cinema abroad with Alice Braga. Now, we also salute Lucy, a producer who has made her mark in the cinematography of our country, and Ingrid, who took millions of people to the cinema to follow her works”, she said.
