Corinthians is close to announcing the arrival of Lucas Verissimo, Benfica’s defender, as the team’s new reinforcement. The player, who was also in Flamengo’s sights, comes to Corinthians on loan.

The 28-year-old defender should sign a one-year contract with Corinthians. The values ​​of this negotiation have not yet been disclosed.

A few months ago, Corinthians had already gone after the player who is no longer part of Benfica’s plans, due to injury. The Portuguese club was interested in selling the player for 10 million Euros, an amount that scared Corinthians and made the team give up on hiring, even more so due to the player’s physical condition.
