Giorgo Armani Takes “One Night Only” to Venice
The great haute couture designer, Giorgio Armani (88) is the creator of the concept and event “One Night Only”, which debuted in London in 2006 with a runway show of various collections and performances by Beyonce and 50 Cent. The intention of the event is to unite the stylist’s two passions, fashion and another of his choice, which vary according to the event.
Since 2006, theOne Night Only” has already been to Tokyo, in 2007, Beijing in 2012, Rome and New York in 2013, Paris in 2014 and the last one took place in Dubai, in 2021, an event in which fashion joined the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Giorgio’s first hotel Armani, located in the Burj Khalifa.
This year, Armani will host an Armani Privé haute couture show and massive party on Saturday, September 2nd in Venice as part of the city’s film festival’s 80th anniversary celebrations. In an interview, the designer stated:
“On the occasion of the Venice Film Festival, I will celebrate a great moment, at the crossroads of fashion and cinema. These two worlds have been the true passions of my life as a designer.”
Armani added: “This event will represent my tribute to the union between creativity and cinema with a spectacular parade followed by a soirée.”
Giorgio and the Film Festival have had close ties since the 1990s, when Martin Scorsese premiered his documentary, Made in Milanand Armani hosted a party in honor of the American filmmaker. The 80th edition of the Venice International Film Festival will run from August 30th to September 9th, and the Italian designer is one of the main sponsors of the event through his company Armani Beauty.

“At this stage of my career, it is especially important for me to be surrounded by my great friends and muses from this universe.”, said Armani about the party.
There is no doubt that the history of cinema and the models of Giorgio Armani are intertwined, the Italian has become a style reference for films since he provided all the costumes for the feature, An American Gigolo (1980), wearing Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton. Since then, the designer’s clothes have been present in classics such as The Intouchables (1987) and James Bond, Casino Royale (2006).
