343 Industries will release a new update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection later today, bringing changes to Firefight mode, quality of life improvements, and more.
With the update, it will be possible to join Firefight matches that are in progress, meaning you won’t have to start from scratch to play this mode. This will apply to both public and custom matches, and Firefight will also be added as a new option in the custom match browser.
In addition, the maximum number of players in Firefight will increase from four to eight, which should improve dynamics within matches.
The July update will also add support for theater mode in Halo 4’s campaign and Spartan Ops mode, and Escalation Slayer will be included in Halo 3. This is a mode where teams progress through various tiers of weapons while defeating their opponents. This mode is available in other Master Chief Collection games and also in Halo Infinite, but until then did not exist in Halo 3.
