Jo Debuts with Pilantra and 4th on Spotify

John It is Anitta finally released their long-awaited partnership this Sunday (12). The song, called “Scoundrel” talks about an irresistible love, full of twists and turns, the kind worthy of a movie. Speaking of movies, the music video for the track is cinematic and inspired by classic talk shows from the 1960s. The video, in addition to having a whole aesthetic vintagetells the story of two stars and their troubled love in an environment full of love and seduction. The video also features impeccable choreography and lots of funny faces.

After the album “Pirate”, released in 2021 and was a success, “Scoundrel” is Jão's first single, which, in addition to featuring his first partnership with none other than Anitta, has been rising rapidly in the charts. Jão also told the PopLine portal that he talked a lot with the singer about the song, mainly because he believes that a feat, especially one of his own, needs to bring together the artists' universes and make sense for both. And this union worked out very well, given the great success that the song is having.

The track has racked up around 897.5 thousand streams in the last 24 hours, on Spotifythus being the biggest debut of the artist's career on the platform, after reaching #4 on charts and also reach the milestone of having a song on top 5 from Spotify's Brazilian chart.

Jão began his music career in 2016 by posting covers of songs on YouTube, and caught the attention of businessmen who took him to sign a contract with Universal Music Groupwhere he released his debut studio album, “Wolves“, which premiered in August 2018, and was a success.

The track “Immature” which earned him a diamond certificate in Brazil, and brought him greater recognition. After “Wolves”, in October 2019, he released “Anti hero”, which had all 10 tracks on Top 200 of Spotify Brazil. His third and most recent studio album was “Pirate” which was even indicated to the Latin Grammy in 2022 as “Best contemporary pop album in Portuguese”. He has been growing and standing out more and more in the music industry and deserves all the success he is having.
