Hours later, Jonathan and Paras went to see Christ the Redeemer and got emotional there.

The Chosen production is one of the most watched on Prime Video, Peacock and Netflix streaming and already has more than 12 million followers on the web.

In December 2023, “The Chosen” was also ranked as the second most watched drama and the fourth most watched non-original series on Netflix Brazil.

In the story, Jonathan plays Jesus Christ and Paras is Matthew. Lara is Eden, Pedro's wife.

This week, the three actors were on stage at SBT's The Noite, presented by Danilo Gentili. Ofuxico was present and checked everything.

Protagonist of the series, Jonathan Roumie told Danilo Gentili that he had already worked with the creator of The Chosen, Dallas Jenkins, and that the invitation was a turning point in his life since, shortly before, he almost gave up working as an actor.

“Four years before the start of the series, Dallas was making some shorts for the Good Friday mass at his church and called me to be Jesus. I made three films in four years with him and when he managed to raise enough funds to film the first four episodes of The Chosen he called me and asked if I wanted to be Jesus again. I thought, 'I need a job, I love Jesus, so sure. Top'. I had never done four episodes of a series in my life, so it was a win-win situation for everyone,” he recalled.
