Josh Peck reveals he almost played Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise

Taking everyone by surprise, actor Josh Peck, from the unforgettable series “Drake and Josh”, revealed that he almost played Edward Cullen, protagonist of the Twilight saga. The actor revealed that he was among the best, but Robert Pattinson ended up winning the competition.

During an interview with the Great Guys podcast, interestingly presented by Taylor Lautner, who played the werewolf Jacob Black in the franchise inspired by Stephenie Meyer's fantasy novel, Peck shared details about behind the scenes of the production. “I remember this was like 2006 (2007)”he said, also saying that “They were like, 'testing for this movie, Twilight, it's based on a book and it's going to be great.' Then, Peck says he sent his tape to play the role of Edward. A month after the event, while he was with his manager, he discovered that he was among the three options for the role.

Josh confided that he was shocked by the businessman's return. According to him: “I was like, 'Really?' I hadn't even had my abdominoplasty yet.”and continued: “I thought: 'There's no way. He has to be so shirtless, that's not going to happen.' But I remember seeing Robert Pattinson playing this role and thinking 'What the f***ing world were they in? Okay, we're thinking here: Chris Hemsworth or Stanley Tucci?' Like this? Impossible! But we almost worked together”, concluded the revelation by playing with the eternal Jacob.

The Twilight Saga is a saga of five books, in the romance and fantasy genres, released between 2008 and 2012, by Summit Entertainment, based on the four novels in the Twilight series, written by the author American Stephenie Meyer.

In the first film (Twilight, 2008), high school student Isabella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and her father, Charlie (Billy Burke), have recently moved. At her new school, Bella ends up meeting Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a young man admired by all the local girls and who maintains an aura of mystery around him. The young people soon fall in love, however, Cullen knows very well that this situation puts the girl's life at risk.
