New behind-the-scenes video from the film has been released

Last Monday (16), Paramount Brasil made available on its YouTube channel a video with never-before-seen details of its new film “Assassins of the Flower Moon”. The production, directed by Martin Scorsese, has Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro in the cast and premieres this Thursday (19) in Brazilian cinemas.

Behind the scenes

In the video released by Paramount, Martin Scorsese appears talking to the main chief of the Osage community, Geoffrey Standing Bear. The Osages are an indigenous American tribe that stars in the story of “Killers of the Flower Moon”.

Geoffrey explains that he was worried about someone “from the outside” telling the story of the Osages, but states that when Scorsese arrived, he saw that the director was respecting the culture: “You (Scorsese) said, 'We're going to film here.' You were going to use our language department, you were going to work with our wardrobe people…”, said the boss in an understanding tone.

And for Scorsese, the feeling of respect is mutual: “I would never have done it without the full support of the Osage community. Everyone was here. Where else could we record? Look at this place, it's perfect”, said the director, referring to Osage County, which served as the setting for the recordings. Check out the video:

The film

“Killers of the Flower Moon” follows the discovery of oil in the lands of the Osages, at the beginning of the 20th century, which began a bloody dispute that ended in the murder of several members of the tribe.

In addition to Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, the cast also includes Lily Gladstone (“Certain Women”), Brendan Fraser (“The Whale”) and Jesse Plemons (“Attack of the Dogs”). The script is by Eric Roth (“ Forrest Gump: The Storyteller”).

The film is an adaptation of the book “Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI”, written by American journalist David Grann. In addition to the dispute over oil, the film will also address the beginnings of the FBI, the United States intelligence and security service.
