Palmeiras calls the texter a caricature in a note sent to the press
On the night of this Monday (01), Palmeiras sent a note to the press condemning and refuting the statements made by the president of SAF of Botafogo, John Textor, who published on his website a survey that pointed out possible manipulation of results to benefit the alviverde. The Porco board said that it has already been adopting appropriate legal measures and calling the Botafogo representative a caricature.
The official note from Palmeiras
In a note issued and sent to the press by Palmeiras this Monday (01), the club says that “has been adopting all applicable legal measures against the owner of SAF do Botafogo, John Textor, and does not intend to speak out again about the bizarre attempt by the caricatured top hat to justify the loss of the 2023 Brazilian title”. The team concludes by reinforcing that it trusts the Brazilian authorities to adopt the correct measures and with the necessary urgency that the case requires.
Palmeiras had previously filed a lawsuit against John Textor for precisely raising suspicions of result manipulation by the São Paulo club. At the end of 2023, Textor said that he had a study that proved that Botafogo should have had 21 more points at the end of the Brasileirão and that Porco was greatly helped by the arbitration.
Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras, declared during the presentation of the Cup of the last Brazilian Championship that she found Textor's statements ridiculous, as in doing so, he devalued the product internationally. She asked the American for more serenity and balance.

Textor Interview
During the afternoon and evening of this Monday (01), John Textor gave statements to the Medeiros Channeljournalist who has a channel on YouTube which covers Botafogo, claiming to have sent the court evidence that results were manipulated in the last Brazilian Championships and cited Palmeiras.
The American said he had heavy evidence, with 100% certainty that Palmeiras was benefiting due to manipulation of results in the last two Brasileirãos. He stated that he was sending them to Brazilian justice to investigate. He did not send it to the sports courts but to the common courts, according to him, he does not see a desire in sports judges to investigate the complaint.
The supposed evidence
In the evening he published on his website a part of the study of what he says is evidence of manipulation of results. The reports are based on an Artificial Intelligence program and experts, which found in two Palmeiras games, against São Paulo in the second round of the 2023 Brasileirão and against Fortaleza in the 2022 tournament.
In the 2023 Choque-Rei where São Paulo lost 5-0, he stated that the artificial intelligence program found five tricolor players suspected of having given away the game, in controversial moves where they were not 100% dedicated. The experts who analyzed the material, according to John Textor, also found possible manipulations in the match's moves.
