Shakira receives the award for Song of the Year

Shakira accumulates awards in 2023

Colombian Shakira received the award for best song of the year with BZRP for Shakira: BZRP Music Sessions, Vol 53. The song was released amid the process of exposing the case of cheating by her ex-husband, Gerard Piqué, which resulted in divorce. In the song, the singer vents and criticizes, with phrases like “Clearly, he's not a good person, he's clearly not what you dream of”, in free translation. In addition to the controversial music, the main reason for the public's engagement, BZRP, the Argentine DJ packed the lyrics with a danceable beat. With the golden gramophones from today's and previous Latin Grammy ceremonies, Shakira has accumulated a total of 18 awards. In this same category, the singer competed with two other songs: Acrostic It is TQG.
