New and promising, a new pop diva is born
Tate, just 20 years old, is an artist who dances, sings and, in addition, makes a point of composing her own hits. At just six years old, the young woman entered the music industry indirectly. Starting with dance classes, her classes paid off a lot, serving as an impetus for the development of the singer who, at 13 years old, was a finalist in the dance reality show “So You Think You Can Dance”. In 2015, she won a scholarship for a two-week intensive course at Berlin State Ballet Schoolthanks to Youth America Grand Prix (dance school in New York).
Dancing was a way for the artist to enter the musical world, for example, in 2016, when she danced in her hometown, Calgary, during the “Purpose”, by singer Justin Bieber, in the performance of the single “children”. The following year, Tate participated in a performance by singer Demi Lovato at the American Music Awards, an important award in the United States, after having her video dancing to the song “Tell Me You Love Me” noted by the artist.
It is worth mentioning that Tate is a talented young woman, an example of which is that in 2021 the composer became the youngest name to join the famous list “Forbes' 30 Under 30” in the “Music” category. His first studio album, titled “I Used To Think I Could Fly”, was released in 2022.
Music that is in the public's minds and videos
It wasn’t just the single “Greedy” which was popular on digital platforms, the track “Promiscuous”, a sample in partnership with Nelly Furtado and Timbaland, released in April 2006, stole the spotlight on TikTok. Another hit that was popular was “Say It Right”, which even had a Portuguese version with the voice of the Brazilian Treicy.
Collecting surprising hits and creating unprecedented partnerships, the young woman has been gaining more and more fans, an audience that has made her reach the mark of 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Recently, Tate did a dance and sent a message to her ex-boyfriends in the new music video, “Exes”, released this Friday (17). A part of the song says: “Kisses to my exes who don't give a shit about me / Kisses, kisses to those close to me who think they can live without me”she sings.
