'Red Hot Chili Peppers' releases first music video in five years with the return of guitarist John Frusciante

Californian band Red Hot Chili Peppers released his first music video in five years. Along with the direction of Deborah Chow, the new clip also celebrates the return after 10 years of guitarist John Frusciante. Check out:

John Frusciante, just 18 years old, joined members Anthony Kiedis, Flea and Chad Smith in 1989, shortly after the death of the first guitarist, Hillel Slovak. Frusciante, who is a fan favorite guitarist, changed the band's sound, which exploded with the album “Blood Sugar Sex Magic”, in 1991. But because he had a drug addiction, he became a fickle member, abandoning the group on two occasions. The first was right after the commercial boom, in 1992. He returned in 1999, producing another successful album, “Californication”before he dropped everything again in 2009.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, considered one of the greatest bands of all time, got back together for live shows on the eve of the pandemic, and the music “Black Summer” It is the first music video to be released after five years. The sound initially resembles music “Under the Bridge”the album's biggest hit “Blood Sugar Sex Magic”but soon gains psychedelic guitar solos and a funky beat.
In an interview with NME, the members of Red Hot Chili Peppers explained that John Frusciante's return was the “biggest event”in addition to representing a “monumental life change” of each of the musicians. And the musicians stated that the meeting with the guitarist “encouraged each other”.

And vocalist Anthony Kiedis concluded:“The biggest event, honestly, was John coming back into the band. This was the most monumental change in our lives. And God, I was up for anything and everything.”.
The group's 12th album, titled “Unlimited Love”is set to be released on April 1st.
