German champion, Bayer Leverkusen wins in the last round and ends the competition undefeated

The match between Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg had everything to be in the context of an end-of-season friendly match, as Augsburg no longer had a chance of relegation, nor of securing a place in European competitions, and Bayer would be champions in advance. However, Bayer sought to crown their impeccable campaign in an unprecedented way: the only undefeated champion in the Bundesliga.

The home team achieved this unprecedented feat by beating Augsburg 2-1.

Victory built in the first stage

At 11 in the first half, Bayer opened the scoring after a mistake by goalkeeper Koubek, who was disarmed by Amine Adli, the number 21 only rolled over for Boniface to shoot and open the scoring at the BayArena.
