Klopp says goodbye to Liverpool and praises Guardiola: “Best in the world”

This Sunday afternoon, the 19th, will mark the last game of Jurgen Klopp in command of Liverpool, in the final round of the 2023/24 Premier League. In the last press conference before the presentation, the German coach assured that it would take him a while to get back to work, and still left time to praise Pep Guardiolacalling him the best in the world.

“Whatever happened at City with the 115 charges, Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world. Put any other coach in the world at that club, they don't win the championship four times in a row“, said Klopp, further softening Manchester City's accusations of violating Financial Fair Play.

Afterwards, the commander also spoke about the end of his cycle at Liverpool, and consequently in English football. This is because, according to Klopp, he will not return to work in the country, without being sure whether he will even work as a football coach again, leaving that decision for the future.

“It will be a long break, for sure. It could even be that (gap year). My time in England is definitely over because I'm not going to coach another team here. If I go back to work, it won't be anytime soon“, added the coach who spent the last nine years at the Reds, having won eight titles.
