The album is already on pre-sale, it has 14 tracks, including “Bad Habits” and although it will be released in 2021, “=” has been in production for four years, according to the singer himself revealed on his social networks.

“I started writing and recording this album in June 2017. It was a long, long process. I went through love, loss, new life, grief and everything else throughout the time I was writing it, and I feel like really recording it has matured. I have never felt so proud of a work, or more excited/nervous for all of you to hear it.”, published Sheeran.

The song, which has already been performed live a few times by Sheeran, is a tribute to his friend who recently passed away. “I finished it for my friend Michael, who unfortunately died this year”, said the singer. The music video has already accumulated more than 2 million views on the YouTube platform and, more than 24 hours since its release, it remains at #33 in trending videos, while the music video for “Bad Habits”the first single from “=”, has more than 122 million views.

The album cover was painted by Ed, who decided to show the phases of a metamorphosis. On his Instagram, the singer published the art of a cocoon 3 days ago, announcing that he would have an announcement the following day. His fans were excited about the possibility of the album's release after a long period of waiting. On Thursday (19), the singer published the art with a beautiful butterfly, which was the cover of the video performance of “Visiting Hours”, released on the same day.
