an absolute domain

Playing in Wellington, Spain showed how the script of the confrontation against the Costa Ricans would be in just a few seconds of departure. The keynote of the European game was clear, commanding the actions and automatically making the opponents retreat, with no way of relieving the pressure. The Spanish bombardment began with two interventions by goalkeeper Daniela Solera in the first minutes, one of which was a firm header by defender Ivana Andrés, which generated a corner. The insistence generated results and at 20, Del Campo tried to cut the intersection and put it against his own goal.

Two minutes later, the attacks continued and Spain’s second came out. Bonmati received a sugary pass inside the area after Del Castillo’s play by the offensive end. Roja’s number 6 was cool when finishing in the middle of the confusion, hitting the corner of the Costa Rican goalkeeper. Before the 30, the Europeans increased the rout, after Hermoso hit the crossbar in another lift. The header’s rebound was free for González to complete between the markings. The advantage of the Spaniards could even have been greater, but Solera remained inspired despite the negative result. She saved Hermoso’s penalty before the break.
