Suspended, Gabigol is seen training with Flamengo coach

Away from the field, after being suspended by the Anti-Doping Sports Court for attempted fraud until April 2025, Gabigol has maintained his physical shape in case he manages to reverse the punishment.

This Friday, a photo of the striker training on the field of his condominium, located in Barra da Tijuca, under the supervision of Fábio Mahseredjian, physical trainer of Flamengo's technical committee, was leaked on social media.

Brazilian Anti-Doping Code

According to article 165, the participation of any suspended person in competitions and sporting activities is prohibited, which includes training alongside other athletes on the squad.

The exception is anti-doping or rehabilitation education, authorized or organized by a signatory, club, league or government agency.

Next steps

Prevented from using any of the club's facilities during the suspension, the player has red and black support, not only to maintain his physical shape, but also with legal assistance.

The athlete and Flamengo have already sent an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to reverse the decision. Meanwhile, the representatives are looking for a suspension effect so that Gabigol can return to training with the rest of the squad and be an option for coach Tite.

Meanwhile, the player's physical planning is designed to mitigate the damage caused during this period in which Gabigol is separated from the group.

Training at home is no longer something new for the 27-year-old striker. In addition to the private field, Gabigol has a gym set up at home and professionals hired to maintain care during periods away from the team.

Even without one of its main players, Flamengo doesn't seem to miss Gabigol. The team won the Campeonato Carioca with a bang and remains undefeated in the Libertadores.
