More than six years after it was originally released in March 2017, the Switch has set a new sales record. As reported by the Nikkei newspaper (via Stealth40k), Nintendo sold more units of the console in June 2023 than in any other June since launch.
According to what was reported, 380,000 Switch units were sold last month, a number 68% higher than that achieved by Nintendo in the same month in 2022.
Some factors that may explain this increase include the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the announcements made in the last Nintendo Direct, such as the remake of Super Mario RPG and the new Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
Although the Switch grew in sales in Japan in June compared to last year, globally Nintendo expects to sell fewer consoles this year.
