10 mods that DRASTICALLY improve the visuals of old games

With the advancement and democratization of technologies, fans themselves end up making several modifications, known as MODS, which improve the experience of several classic games. There are mods for everything you can imagine, but here we decided to list ten that visually improve old games.

1 – Resident Evil 1,2,3 MODS

Thanks to the power of artificial intelligence, Playstation 1 games that had pre-rendered graphics can have their image quality increased, something that until then was considered impossible. That's why Resident Evil 1 released in 1996, Resident Evil 2 from 1998 and Resident Evil 3 from 1999 can have high-resolution scenes that give their respective games a beautiful appearance.

2 – Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX MODS

Just as happened with Resident Evil, the Final Fantasies on the first Playstation also gained graphic MODS that considerably boosted the experience, improving not only the pre-rendered scenarios, but also the videos and three-dimensional modeling. Just have the games available on Steam.

3 – Sonic Adventure 2 Ersgan Texture (PC)

This mod takes the best of “all worlds” for the ultimate experience. Therefore, there are textures extracted from the Dreamcast, GameCube and PC versions, and all of them have been boosted with artificial intelligence to provide the best visual quality possible. 4 – Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 4K Texture Pack MODS

A Nintendo 64 classic considered by many to be the “best game of all time” got a remake on the Nintendo 3DS that improves the graphics, and on top of that, fans took this remake and boosted it even more. To download it, Click here.

5 – Super Mario 64 4K

6 – Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix HD Textures

7 – Xenogears HD

Despite not being as well-known as some of its contemporaries, Xenogears is a Squaresoft (now Square-Enix) classic and has a significant legion of fans who consider it one of their “favorite games ever”. Fans also made an HD version of it and the mod can be downloaded here.

8 – Parasite Eve 2 HD Textures

9 – The Legend of Zelda

One of the most interesting, The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendinho received a modification made by fans that leaves the graphics similar to Zelda and Link to The Past for the Super Nintendo.
