Lollapalooza announces epic dates in São Paulo for 2024

According to “POPLine”, the dates of the festival were announced today (29). Lollapalooza, which will take place at the Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo. The event is scheduled for March 22nd (Friday), 23rd (Saturday) and 24th (Sunday), 2024.

Another new feature is the change in the producer responsible for organizing the event. Until this year's edition, the Time For Fun she was responsible for the music festival. After a 10-year partnership, the relationship came to an end; now Lollapalooza will be produced by Live Nationa company also responsible for the production of Rock in Rio It's from The Town.

How Lolla came about:

According to the website “Terra”, the explanation of the origin of the name is given by Perry Farrell, vocalist of Jane's Addiction and event creator: “I was lying on the carpet reading the dictionary and I came across this word: 'Lollapalooza'. 'Something and/or someone exceptional or wonderful. And, number two, a giant spiral lollipop.'

The first edition of Lollapalooza appeared in the United States in 1991. The idea was to bring together alternative music groups in a series of shows in the United States that took place between July and August of that year, on the initiative of the band Jane's Addiction. Lollapalooza debuted in Brazil in 2012, with shows held between April 7th and 8th.
