Xand Avião launches DVD 'MIXTURA' with special guests

Xand Avião, one of the greatest forró singers in Brazil, brought the DVD 'MIXTURA' to the public. Released on January 26, the artist delighted his fans with songs that mix funk, trap, forró, piseiro, pagode, among others.

In November 2023, the singer and businessman gathered a strong team including João Gomes, Simone Mendes, Juliette and Felipe Amorim to record the DVD at Coudelaria Souza Leão, in Recife. In total, 12 tracks are part of the project. The flagship is the medley with singer Simone Mendes, where the artists performed together the hits from “Primeiro Passo/Ânsia/Volta Vai”.

DVD Songs

The other songs feature re-recordings by Brazilian music artists, and singers such as Xand's idol, Djavan, with the track Lilás: “Anyone who works with music can't help but love Djavan. He's from Alagoas who has a brilliant mind and musicality in his veins.” He says that the song was released by Djavan himself, who received it for approval.

Paying homage to the legacy of Aviões do Forró and in response to fan requests, the repertoire also includes re-recordings of the band's hits that are part of their career and that are a landmark in the Brazilian repertoire. Among the songs are: 'Mulher Doideira', 'Indecisão', 'O Que Tem Que Ser Será', 'Alta Estação', 'Chá de Costa', 'Pequeno Celular' and 'Eu Não Vou Mais Chorar' – which bring back the nostalgia that is part of the 2000s.

Carlos Aristides, Xand's manager and one of the creators of Aviões do Forró, explains how the planning to re-record the band's greatest hits came about: “For this project, we wanted to satisfy the public who have always asked for old songs that are part of Xand's 22-year career,” explains Carlos.

Come Back, Go (Simone and Simaria), Feet in the Sand (Diogo Nogueira), This Way is Bad for Me (Belo) and Zio de Lula (Charlie Brown Jr) are some of the other hits performed by Xand on the DVD.

Partnerships and projects

The project was carried out in partnership with the Pernambuco company Carvalheira, and Victor Carvalheira, partner of the company, explains what it was like to produce the DVD alongside the commander: “Carvalheira has a long history with Xand, so it's only fair that we join forces in this project that has everything to surprise audiences in every corner of Brazil. MIXTURA begins its history with this DVD, but our idea is for it to conquer Brazil as a label, bringing the commander's hits in the form of a party, for the audience to enjoy a lot.” he says.

In addition to being a forró phenomenon, alongside Carlos Aristides, Xand is a partner at Vybbe, one of the largest artistic management companies in the Northeast. Mari Fernandez, Zé Vaqueiro, Nattan, Felipe Amorim, Priscila Sena, Zé Cantor and others are some of the names that make up the company. Xand is also one of the creators of “Viiixe! Forró e Piseiro”, the largest Forró Festival in Brazil, which takes place in several states of the country.
