Britney Spears' mother refutes her daughter's statements in biography: “I would never do that”
Lynne Spears, mother of Britney Spears, went public through her social networks, this Thursday (9), to deny some statements that the singer reported in an excerpt from her biography entitled “The Woman in Me”, in Portuguese “The Woman in Me”.
Understand the controversy
In her memoir, the pop artist claims that, in 2019, while she was admitted to a rehabilitation clinic, her parents threw away some items that were very important to her.
Britney details that after returning to her home, during the Covid-19 pandemic, she found an empty shelf, without her collection of Madame Alexander dolls and no longer found a diary that she used to collect texts she wrote for three years and poetry.
“When I saw the empty shelves, I felt an overwhelming sadness. I thought about the pages I wrote through tears […] They were important to me and my family threw them in the trash, just like they threw me away.”confided the artist.
Amid Britney's controversial allegations, Lynne decided to use her Instagram, publishing photos of the objects in question, to refute the information given by her eldest daughter.
In the caption, Lynne mentions the artist's profile and clarifies the situation. “I'm not sure who told you I got rid of your dolls and diaries, but I would never do that! That would be cruel because I know how much they mean to you.”. In the text, Britney's mother also states that the objects are also special to her and is willing to send them to her firstborn.
The biography
“The Woman in Me”, promises to report, in the artist’s own words, some moments experienced by Britney Spears in a direct, sincere and humorous way. The biography was released on October 24th and, according to “People” magazine, the singer would have received around US$15 million for the book.
The little princess of pop, as the owner of the hits “Toxic” and “ops! Did It Again”, confides in his written work several moments of his life and does not spare details when telling about the troubled relationship with his family, especially his father Jamie Spears, his traumas, an alleged abortion that would have been carried out after Justin's request Timberlake, her boyfriend at the time, and several other controversial situations.
