Deadline for submission of the MEIs Annual Declaration is approaching
– how to remain healthy, health related news, latest symptoms and treatments.
Since January 1st, MEIs can now make the annual billing statement, but most always leave it until the last minute. The deadline ends next Friday (31), and there are still a large number of entrepreneurs to make the Declaration to the Federal Revenue.
The deadline for submitting the Individual Microentrepreneur Annual Declaration (MEI) is approaching. The deadline is Friday, May 31st. This limit is for all MEIs in the country, except for those registered in the cities of Rio Grande do Sul that have been facing a public calamity situation, and thus, the deadline was extended until July 31st in the state. Failure to declare may result in a fine and even cancellation of the MEI CNPJ.
At least half of the declarations are yet to be made
According to information from SEBRAE, at least 15.7 million declarations must be made this year. Despite the fact that by May 23rd, at least 8.3 million entrepreneurs had not made their declarations.
The MEI is obliged to present the DASN+-SMEI to the Federal Revenue annually. Since the gross revenue and the number of employees are some of the information to be included, and currently the revenue limit is R$ 81 thousand per year, or R$ 6,750 per month, and if this amount is exceeded, the entrepreneur must pay the tax that is exceeded, and MEI non-compliance must be requested, for Microenterprise (ME).
Fine and cancellation of CNPJ
This Declaration must be submitted by all MEIs, even if there was no revenue during the year. It is important to complete the MEI declaration within the stipulated deadline, as after the deadline you are subject to paying a fine of 20% of the value of taxes and you may have your CNPJ cancelled, or canceled definitively if you have not paid any monthly contribution in the last two years.
