Elden Ring sold twelve million times within three weeks

The game Elden Ring has sold twelve million copies worldwide, developer From Software announces. The game appeared on February 25.

This means that Elden Ring sells much faster than games from the Dark Souls series, which were also made by From Software and on which Elden Ring builds. Of those games, Dark Souls III sold the fastest. After a month, more than three million units had been sold.

Sales figures Gamesindustry.biz own show that Elden Ring is the best-selling new game in Europe since The Division came out in 2016. ?

These are games that are not part of an already existing series.

The PC version of Elden Ring was the most sold (44 percent), according to the site. The PlayStation 5 follows with 27 percent and then comes the Xbox Series X /S (16 percent) and the PS4 (13 percent).

Elden Ring is similar to Dark Souls games in terms of gameplay and its high difficulty, but has a new story and an open world. 

Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin co-wrote the story.
