Faustão recovers from heart transplant surgery: see details!

The host Faustão73 years old, is recovering from heart transplant surgery, as reported Luciana Cardoso, his wife, this Monday (28). The procedure was carried out on Sunday (27), after Faustão had been on the SUS waiting list since August 8.

Faustão's surgery lasted about two hours

The surgery, which lasted around two and a half hours, was carried out at the hospital Albert Einstein, where Faustão has been hospitalized since August 5th. The hospitalization was only made public on the 17th.

Luciana took the opportunity to thank the messages of support, clarify the speed of the SUS waiting list and thank the donor's family.

She explained that from the first day of emergency hospitalization, they already knew the need for the transplant and that Faustão was included on the list on August 8th. She also clarified that the inclusion of the presenter in the queue for a heart as a matter of urgency was only announced on the 20th, due to questions about the speed of the process.

Luciana also explained why she created the profile “Faustão in My Heart” on social media, with the aim of encouraging organ donation.

Luciana thanks the medical team and the donor's family

She took the opportunity to thank the medical team that participated in the process, including the doctors, the intake team, the São Paulo State police and the cardiologist and transplant team. She also paid a special tribute to the nursing team, highlighting the spectacular and admirable work carried out by them pre- and post-operatively after the transplant.

Luciana expressed gratitude to the donor's family, highlighting that, in a time of pain and suffering, they said yes and allowed Faustão and other recipients to have more time with their loved ones. She was also happy to learn that another person in the same hospital, through SUS, also received an organ from the same donor, now having a long-awaited chance at life.
