First photo from the film about Michael Jackson revealed

This Wednesday morning (14), singer Michael Jackson's official account on X (formerly Twitter) revealed the first image of the pop star's biopic. In the photo you can see the protagonist, played by actor Jaafar Jackson, son of Jermaine, Michael's brother.

The photo was taken by Kevin Mazur, a photographer who played Michael for much of his career. What can be seen in the record is Jaafar singing his voice in one of the star's most emblematic costumes in his performances: a tank top and white jacket, in addition to his hair tied up. The resemblance between uncle and nephew impressed internet users and the photo ended up becoming one of the most talked about topics on social media this morning.

Film description

A small preview of how the film will be presented was also shown. According to the announcement, what can be expected is a production that covers most of the events in the artist's life:

“Michael will give audiences a fascinating and honest portrait of the brilliant and complicated man who became the King of Pop. The film brings his triumphs and tragedies to life on an epic scale — from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable genius creative talent.” .

Cast and crew

The production of the film recently announced that the actor who will portray the artist in his childhood has already been defined. According to the THR portal, he is Juliano Krue Valdi, a 9-year-old child artist discovered by the film's team while creating versions of the pop star on the streets of the United States.

Also joining the cast is actress Nia Long, who will star as Katherine Jackson, the singer's mother. The artist's father, Joe Jackson, will be played by actor Colman Domingo.

The work is directed by Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”), while production is handled by Lionsgate and Graham King (“Bohemian Rhapsody”). The script will be written by the experienced John Logan, nominated for an Oscar for “Gladiator”, “The Aviator” It is “Hugo”.

“Michael” hits theaters on April 25, 2025.
