“Friends” cast says goodbye to Matthew Perry at the actor's wake

Matthew Perry's wake took place last Friday (3). The farewell ceremony was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Hollywood Hills, in the city of Los Angeles, California.

According to the American website TMZ, the wake was attended by a maximum of 20 people. The cast of Friends was seen there, as well as John Bennett Perry, Matthew's father, and Keith Morrison, his stepfather.

David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, actors with whom Matthew Perry starred on the NBC series for almost ten years, were photographed at the scene. Matt LeBlanc did not appear in photos, but people who were nearby confirmed that Joey Tribbiani's interpreter was also at the wake.

The cemetery is located near the Warner Bros. studios, where “Friends” was filmed. Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Waker and Carrie Fisher were also mourned in this same place.

Death of Matthew Perry

Matthew Perry was found lifeless in a hot tub, aged 54, on Saturday (28). The actor was at his home, located in Los Angeles, California. There were no drugs or signs of crime at the scene, leading to the assumption that he drowned.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that police were called to the scene after a report of a person suffering from cardiac arrest. The call to the authorities was reportedly made by his assistant, who was the one who found him unconscious in the bathtub.

Cause of death

According to TMZ, the main suspicion is that Matthew was the victim of drowning. Drugs were not found at the scene, but due to his battle with depression, antidepressants, anxiolytics and medications for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were seized in the house, medications recommended for those with emphysema or chronic bronchitis. Matthew has been a smoker for a large part of his life.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles police.
