Ganso reveals expectation of return to the Brazilian national team and depends on a coach

In a recent interview with Boleiragem, from SporTV, Paulo Henrique Ganso commented on a possible return to the Brazilian national team. Fluminense’s number 10 said he hopes to be called up, but recalled that the decision depends on coach Fernando Diniz.

“Expectations are high, obviously. I’m with Diniz on a daily basis, I already know him, but it’s up to him, he’s the coach. There’s no use going up to him and forcing something.”said Goose.

The player also participated in an interview for the Denílson Show channel, on Youtube, last Tuesday (18). On the podcast of former player Denílson, Ganso reinforced that he has great hopes of being called up because he already knows Diniz and knows his way of playing. The number 10 of Tricolor das Laranjeiras said that he just needs to be physically fit to be called up.

“I just need to be physically fit, that’s what I say: physically fit and playing for Fluminense, I will certainly have an opportunity”concluded the player.

Ganso has not played for the Brazilian national team since February 2012, when he replaced Ronaldinho Gaúcho and came on in the second half during a friendly match between Brazil and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Brazilian team won the match 2-1.

The last time Ganso was called up to the Brazilian national team was in 2016, for the Copa América Centenario. The midfielder replaced Kaká, who was cut due to an injury. Despite being called up, Ganso was only on the bench during the competition and never got to play. The Brazilian team ended up being eliminated in the first phase of the tournament after losing to the Peru team by 1-0.
