Iran sends drones and missiles towards Israel – trending news updates, world news, local news and all about nations, states and governments.
According to Israeli military sources, this Saturday (13), Iran carried out an attack with drones and missiles against the territory of Israel. The drones took hours to reach their target, while explosions were heard in Jerusalem just before 8pm. Warning sirens were activated in several regions of the country, as reported by local media.
In a statement released last Friday (12), the United States confirmed that there was a strong possibility that Iran would retaliate against Israel for the attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria that occurred on the 1st. Joe Biden, the US president, stated that attack would occur soon.
Plans Revealed
According to the newspaper “The Wall Street Journal”, Israel is on alert for the possible attack, where they could be bombarded by Iranian missiles, which will be used to retaliate against their geopolitical rivals, and then as instruments to ward off other countries that could be against them. .

Ballistic, based on Russian and North Korean weapons designs, the projectiles can reach speeds close to five times the speed of sound, difficult to intercept as they can follow complex trajectories.
Iran's missiles
Last week, ISNA, a semi-official news agency, posted a graphic that reveals some missiles in the Middle Eastern country's possession, including:
- 'Sejil', which has the ability to fly at 17,000 km per hour and has a range of 2,500 kilometers.
- 'Kheibar', can reach 2,000 kms.
- 'Haj Qasem' has a range of 1,400 km (it was named as a tribute to the commander of the Quds forces Qasem Soleimani, victim of a US attack in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2020).
Since they were revealed, the United States and the nations of the European continent have declared themselves against Iran's missile program, the nation informed that despite the criticism it would continue with its plans
Aid to Israel
John Kirby, spokesman for the US National Security Council, said that his country will guarantee support to the Israelis for whatever they need to defend themselves, including analyzing the possibility of sending thousands of American soldiers to the region.
