Isabeli Fontana surprises with leather and jewelry at Cannes festival

Isabeli Fontana, who has had a career spanning over 25 years and is taking part in the Cannes Film Festival for the 12th time, decided to innovate her look and appear with hair extensions to create a sculptural bun -like those seen at the Prada fashion show-, this Saturday (25), the last day of the event, when the Palme d'Or is awarded.

The Brazilian top model, who has already proven by A plus B that radical hair changes don't scare her, has already had her locks cut in a grunge style during New York Fashion Week, the strands bleached, copper and even red.

Experimenting and playing with possibilities is definitely something that doesn't surprise Isabeli. Now, in Cannes, she opted for almost art nouveau hair, but with a modernist touch, adorned with a jewel set in 64 thousand carats of pearls, 85 thousand sapphires, 165 thousand pink sapphires and 78 thousand carats of white and yellow diamonds. The piece is a unique example, made for collectors and has incalculable value, designed by the award-winning high jewelry designer, Elsa Jin. It was the first public appearance of the jewel and it competes for the Best in Haute Couture award at the Couture Design Award, one of the most prestigious jewelry competitions.

To climb the stairs of the Palais des Festivals, Isabeli avoided the obvious expected on a red carpet and opted for a structured leather jacket-dress, tights, hot pants with styling designed by Frenchman Jonathan Huguet, known for dressing actresses such as Juliette Binoche, Isabelle Huppert and Sophie Marceau. The look was adorned with a brooch 35 carat black pearls, black diamonds and emeralds which references Chinese calligraphy in its format.

The beauty created by Érica Monteiro, Brigitte Meirinho and Alan Leal had dramatic inspiration with smokey eyes highlighting the blue of Isabeli's eyes, skin worked on with highlighter and glossy lips, in order to create a strong image.

Right after the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival, Isabeli traveled the same night to Milan, where she photographed a fashion campaign.
