Johnny Depp appeals in case with ex-wife Heard

Actor Johnny Depp has appealed in the case he won from his ex-wife Amber Heard. Heard received a compensation of almost 2 million euros as a result of the case, but he does not agree with that. At the beginning of this month, Heard also appealed.

The actress received the damages, because there was defamation when Depp’s lawyer previously called her allegations of abuse a “hoax”.

In early June, Depp won the case Heard had filed against him. She had written in an op-ed about her experiences with domestic violence, and although Depp’s name was not mentioned in it, he felt it was clear that he was meant. His career and reputation would have suffered, the actor said.

The jury agreed with Depp and ordered Heard to pay $15 million, $35 million less than Depp had demanded.

AMBER HEARD

Heard, in turn, appealed against that, that has yet to be set in motion, and it is therefore not yet clear whether the judge approves it. Heard also requested the court to reject the verdict for fraud on the jury. That request was rejected.
