Lily Allen reveals how she talks about sex with her teenage daughters

Talking about virginity, the first time, condoms, contraceptives and other sex-related topics may be taboo for most parents, but not for Lily Allen. The 38-year-old British singer recently said on her podcast that the topic is discussed very naturally at home with her daughters Ethel Mary and Marnie.

The pre-adolescents aged 13 and 11, respectively, demonstrate a good dialogue with their mother. “What matters to me is that there is no shame associated with this 'event'”, he said to “Miss Me?”, a podcast on the BBC Sounds platform during the participation of British TV presenter, Miquita Oliver. Lily also confided that David Harbour, her current husband, already wanted to help with the conversations, but according to her, “It was a disaster”he joked.

Lily Allen uses metaphors and analogies to talk about sex with her daughters

Liberal when talking about sex, Lily said she uses metaphors so that her daughters understand the subject better. One of them was to make an analogy with the use of ear piercings. “The good part is like buying a lot of earrings and being able to change them, do what you want and change styles”, he spoke. Breaking these taboos in a more educational way, the singer hopes that her daughters feel comfortable and don't experience trauma when the time is right.

Singer said she lost her virginity as a teenager during vacation

The controversies did not stop there. Lily Allen said she lost her virginity at age 12 to a 21-year-old boy while on vacation in Brazil. The singer was traveling accompanied by her father and brother. She stated that the experience was not cool and traumatized her, causing her to lose interest in sex for a long time. “I met a guy called Fernando at the bar, we went to his room (…) I ended up falling asleep in the guy's room and didn't go back to mine”he said.

This irresponsible attitude had consequences, because when her father woke up and went to the room Lily shared with her brother and couldn't find her, he called the police. The situation took on greater proportions when they found a blouse similar to hers on the beach, stuck in branches. “They thought I had drowned. My father was in pieces”, he lamented. After the shock of this experience, Lily Allen hopes that sex chats with her daughters will have better stories than hers.
