Manoel Soares launches Bombou news aggregator, after leaving Globo
Presenter, journalist and social activist Manuel Soares has just launched the multiplatform project Bombou, a news aggregator, which will quickly, creatively and colloquially bring to the public the main news that reverberated in the media in general, on social networks and that can impact society.
“Bringing information to the population is at the top of my work as a communicator, and Bombou is a multiplatform news bulletin that will daily bring the main topics covered by the media and social networks, but in simple, easy-to-understand language, summarizing everything people really need to know to stay informed. If it rocked, it rocked!”, completes Manoel Soares.
The Bombou news aggregator is available from today, the 17th, on the main audio and video platforms (Spotify, YouTube and Facebook), the presenter’s social networks, and will have new episodes every day at 5 pm.
GLOBO TV OUTPUT
At the beginning of July, Manuel Soares left TV Globo and, consequently, the Meeting, something that left many doubts. First, news emerged that the dismissal had nothing to do with possible disputes between him and Patrícia Poeta in the attraction, but rather with other complaints by broadcaster employees.
In view of this, the presenter went public to explain and end the rumors, rebutting accusations of harassment. The journalist told how he left Rede Globo and showed his resignation letter.
Manoel recorded a video and even left a message in the post.
“I have a lot of cool news to bring here about news that is coming and that will bring us closer, but I want to put closure on this subject first. In advance, I am grateful for the affection of everyone who, like me, is outraged by these slander. But let’s follow the teachings of our master Conceição Evaristo: “They agreed to kill us and we agreed not to die”, she wrote.

On Tuesday, July 4, Manoel Soares went to social networks to refute the accusations of harassment, involving his name on TV Globo. According to F5, from Folha de S. Paulo, one of the alleged accusations of harassment, made by a journalist, says that a woman felt uncomfortable after seeing Manoel walking around in the station’s corridors in a bathrobe.
“With my departure from Rede Globo, many false news speculating the reason became public. It is regrettable that some use important tools of journalism to support absurdities involving my name. I am neither the first nor the last man of my origins to be targeted in this way. For centuries they have used the strategy of alleging abusive behavior to disqualify black men. I am outraged by this kind of cowardice, but reassured about the truth of my actions and conduct. Lies like these cannot be sustained, which is why they will be fought in the legal field,” he wrote in an excerpt from the statement posted on Instagram.
