New Album Sob RockInspired by the 80s!

Singer John Mayer released, this Friday (16), his eighth and new album 'Sob Rock'. At 43 years old, the singer brings songs inspired by the 80s, using Phil Collins and Eric Clapton as references.

The singer's new album was previewed with the release of the single 'Last Train Home', released in June, with a special appearance by country singer Maren Morris.

'Sob Rock' was recorded in Los Angeles, at Henson Studios, and is produced by John Mayer himself and Don Was. Filled with melancholic melodies and stellar compositions that address the negative side of love, the album has 10 tracks with striking guitar solos by John Mayer.

The singer has a reputation as a “flirter” and has been in relationships with several Hollywood stars, such as Katy Perry, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift. On the track 'Till The Righ One Comes Along', he rebukes the critics of his life, singing: “Those fortunate in love call themselves winners / And losers are sinners who have lost their way / As if I woke up alone one morning / It seemed that way and I decided it would stay that way.”

Some singers from the 80s participated in John's new album, such as the keyboardist Greg Phillinganes and the percussionist Lenny Castrofrom the band Toto. Greg has already played for Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton It is Michael Jackson.

The singer held a party in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of his new album, and was attended by the likes of Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes and Dave Chapelle.

The 'Sob Rock' tour already has dates and cities announced! On his Instagram, the singer published the dates and respective cities in which the tour will take place: New York, Las Vegas, Washington, Boston and Toronto are some of the cities, all scheduled for 2022.
