Ronaldo completes the sale of Cruzeiro's SAF and says goodbye: “Duty done…”

Businessman and former player Ronaldo Fenômeno spoke for the first time about the sale of 90% of SAF do cruise for the billionaire Pedro Lourenço. The now former owner of Raposa highlighted the feeling of duty accomplished and said goodbye to commanding the Minas Gerais club.

“It’s a mixture of feelings that hits me, but mainly that of duty accomplished”highlighted Ronaldo Fenômeno.

“It is inevitable not to remember two years and 4 months ago when I, irresponsibly, took on this great challenge of buying SAF from Cruzeiro. Since then, we have faced many challenges, the vast majority of which we have overcome and achieved our goal. We made mistakes, we stumbled along the way, but today I can say that I hand over Cruzeiro to Pedrinho’s hands with a feeling of tranquility and a sense of accomplishment, since the situation was really very precarious”said the former player.

“I deliver Cruzeiro in a completely different scenario, infinitely better than the one I took. I want to thank all Cruzeiro collaborators, employees, coaches, directors, and of course, the greatest asset, which is the fans. Thanking you for the support when we needed it, the support, perhaps a small part of it exaggerated with me, but it is irrelevant to me because I know that the vast majority are grateful to me and my team for putting the club back on the national and international stage.”continued Ronaldo.

Regarding the feeling of duty fulfilled, the former player said: “Pedrinho, my objective has been fulfilled and my idea has always been this, to rebuild Cruzeiro, put it in its rightful place, and at the right time, pass it on to the right person, and the right person is you. There is no one who loves this club more than you, and only you can provide the speed that the fans want. The value of the negotiation was not revealed, with the club claiming confidentiality of the contract so as not to disclose the figures involved. The acquisition still needs to be approved and awaits the formal rite, but the basis of the agreement has already been drawn up. Ronaldo continues as a member of the board of directors and the new majority shareholder of SAF is BPW Sportslinked to Pedrinho.
