The Making of Karateka announced for consoles and PC

Digital Eclipse has just announced The Making of Karateka, the first game in its Gold Master Series, which are independently produced projects to celebrate designers, studios and games that have changed the gaming industry.

The game will have many details about how Karateka was created, telling the story through documents, playable prototypes, and videos. It will come with four playable versions of the classic, including an all-new remaster.

“Our mission (with the Gold Master Series) is to elevate these games by presenting them in the best light possible while also placing them in their proper historical context, an approach we call ‘interactive documentary’,” he said. Chris Kohler, editorial director of Digital Eclipse.

“If you played last year’s Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, you experienced this approach. In the Gold Master Series, we will dive deep into many fascinating stories from video game history.”

The release will take place later this year for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC (Steam).
