Tite reports that he was spat on by fans in Palmeiras x Flamengo

On the afternoon of this past Sunday (21), Flamengo and Palmeiras played the first classic between the teams in 2024. However, an episode marked Tite's first game facing the Alviverde team in command of another team. After the confrontation, the Rubro-Negro coach reported that he was spat on while he was on the bench.

When reporting what happened, Tite asked that fans could have respect in football and that children could be educated to respect their opponents. The technician reported that he had to clean himself up after being spat on.

“Let me make an observation. My activity as a coach, I know that it is quite exposed, and I have to put up with all the possible insults that come from outside. And it's not from Palmeiras fans. They are from some people who perhaps don't have the means to know that there are a lot of children that can be educated. The offenses are part of the game, but spitting is really ugly, man. Me having to clean my head and my clothes is ugly, man”, said Tite after the game against Palmeiras.

Tite also made it clear that the message he was sending was to the people who acted rudely towards him and not to the Palmeiras fans. He also highlights that he saved Palmeiras from relegation and that these supposed fans did not deserve to be represented by the athletes.

The emphasis that Tite gave when saying that he saved Palmeiras from relegation was in 2006. At the time, the coach commanded the alviverde team and helped the team to remain in Series A of the Brazilian Championship.
