Young promise from Santos is sold to Chelsea for a millionaire value

Santos proceeds with the sale of young striker Ângelo Gabriel to Chelsea, last Friday (30) the 18-year-old player attended CT Rei Pelé to say goodbye to teammates and employees. The negotiation depended on Barcelona, ​​which had a purchase option clause for the young player, but the Spanish club gave up the negotiation and left the player free for new negotiations.

The amount paid by the English team for Angelo is 15 million euros, approximately 78.9 million reais. The player arrives to join the squad of the “Blues”, as he is affectionately nicknamed, which last season sought to renew its squad and invested in signing football promises.

Ângelo had already been sought out by Flamengo earlier this year, however, the player who was formed at the Santos base did not accept to play for another club in Brazil. The sale of Ângelo is very important for Peixe, which has been going through a crisis since the beginning of the year, after almost being relegated in the Paulista Championship.

Santos will receive 70% of the player’s value, which is equivalent to approximately R$ 55.5 million, and is entitled to receive a percentage if Chelsea sells the player in the future. With that, the club has a short sigh and will be able to plan the next steps to recover in the Brazilian Championship, where it is currently in 13th place and only two points from the first team in the relegation zone, Goiás.

Ângelo debuted in professional football in 2021 and in the same year became the youngest player to score a goal in the Copa Libertadores, at just 16 years, three months and 16 days old. He played 129 matches for Peixe, in which he scored five times and provided ten passes for goals. Now, the player leaves for England in search of establishing himself in the team and being an important part in the reconstruction of Chelsea.
