From Accountant to Games Master
Who would have thought that an accountant would become a game master, huh?
Cristian started his career testing games and, seriously, he just wanted to work on what he loved since he was a kid: video games. “I always dreamed of working with games.
An Epic Journey Through the World of Games
After testing games, Cristian rose through the ranks in the gaming industry. He visited several cities around the world – Shanghai, Toronto, Montreal, Lyon, Newcastle and Malmo – and in 2020 returned to Bucharest as head of Ubisoft's studios in Romania and Serbia.
Memorable Works and Achievements
Cristian got his hands dirty in several AAA games, like Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist It is The Division. “If I had to choose the project I'm most proud of, it would be Tom Clancy's The Division,” revealed Cristian. The guy did so well that even today, five years after its release, the game is still going strong!
A New Adventure with Amazon Games
Now, Cristian is ready for a new challenge with Amazon Games. He wants to assemble a team of game-loving beasts in Bucharest. “I look for proactive, motivated and bold people who are proud of what they are creating and who play what they are producing,” he said. So, if you have these qualities, you already know, right?
Inspiring and Transparent Leadership
Cristian believes that the best leadership is based on autonomy and transparency. “I like to give my team a strong sense of ownership and autonomy. I am always available to support and help whenever necessary, and I think it is essential that everyone has the same level of information so that we can evolve together,” he explained.
A New Path for Games in Europe
Cristian sees a bright future for the new Amazon Games studio in Bucharest. “What attracted me most was that Amazon can pave the way and positively influence game development in Europe,” he said. “Our expectation is that the new studio in Romania will attract many of the industry’s top talents.”
