Anitta releases excerpt from “Double Team”, her new single with Bad Gyal

This Thursday morning (21), Anitta released a small teaser of her new single “Double Team”, in partnership with Spanish singer Bad Gyal. The track is part of the album “Funk Generation”, which is scheduled for release this Thursday (21st), at 8pm, with a clip at 9pm.

Partnership with Bad Gyal

Anitta's partnership with Bad Gyal is not new. The Spanish singer, with the collaboration of the Brazilian, released the song ''Bota Niña''. The song was made available on digital platforms in January, marking the Spanish singer's first release of the year and the campaign for her new album. The style is a mix of Brazilian brega funk and reggaeton, the dominant rhythm in the Hispanic-speaking Latin pop market.

The first partnership with Anitta helped Bad Gyal expand its audience to other South American countries, such as Brazil. This resulted in the song that made up the Spaniard's album, ''La Joia'', released on January 26th.

The two artists performed together live this month at the Lo Nuestro awards, an annual award show in the United States, presented by the Univision channel, with the aim of honoring the most talented artists in Latin music. The two performed “Bota Niña” and were applauded by the public.

Funk Generation

“Funk Generation” is the name of the first international funk album produced by Anitta, being the singer's third trilingual. During an interview at the Met Gala 2023, she had already revealed to Variety magazine that she was preparing a funk music album for the international music market.

Anitta spent a few months focused on developing the album, recording seven video clips in advance, such as those for “Funk Rave”, “Casi Casi” and “Used to Be”, which were released in the “A Favela Love Story” project, in addition to the songs “Grip”, “Aceita”, “Girl Like Me”, a collaboration with Chloe Bailey, and “I Wanna Be”, in partnership with Sam Smith.
