Call-ups for Argentina's friendlies are announced

This Monday (20), the list of players called up for the Argentine national team's friendly games before the Copa América was released by the Argentine Football Association (AFA). The team will play twice before the championship, with games against the Ecuador and Guatemala teams, both in June. In the call-up, important names such as Messi and Di María were announced.

Next games of the Argentine national team

The first game will be against Ecuador and will take place on June 9th, in Chicago. Against Guatemala, the Argentines will take the field in Washington, capital of the United States. The match will be five days after the first game, on June 14th.

On June 20th, the Argentine team will be on the pitch for the opening game of the Copa América. The game will be against the Canadian team and the match will take place in Atlanta.

Player call-up list

To play in goal, the following names were called up: Armani, Rulli and Emiliano Martínez.

In defense (backs and defenders), the names were: Montiel, Molina, Balerdi, Romero, Pezzella, Martínez Quarta, Otamendi, Lisandro Martínez, Acuña, Tagliafico and Barco.

The names in midfield were: Guido Rodríguez, Paredes, Mac Allister, De Paul, Palacios, Enzo Fernández and Lo Celso.

The attackers called up by Scaloni were: Di María, Carboni, Lionel Messi, Correa, Garnacho, Nicolás González, Lautaro Martínez and Julián Álvarez.

Lionel Scaloni, coach of the national team, announced 29 names called up on his list, but given the permissions of the Copa América, the teams must call up only 26 players by June 15th, five days before the opening game of the championship. With this in mind, the national team coach will use two friendly games as a basis to decide the official list to be submitted for the Copa América.
